REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Blackley:
On May 16, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your revised application dated
May 14, 2007, to impact 0.469 acres of wetland and 254 linear feet of perennial stream, 18,533
square feet of Zone 1 protected Neuse River basin riparian buffers, and 19,912 square feet of
Zone 2 protected Neuse River basin riparian buffers to construct the proposed commercial
development. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided
inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in
order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject
property. Therefore, unless we receive five copies of the additional information requested
below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H
.0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional
information. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your
.project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. Wetland A: Please provide the surface areas for the forebay, high marsh, low marsh and
micropool. Also, it appears that the orifice is slightly oversized and will result in a
drawdown that is under two days.
2. Wetland B: According to the current version of the DWQ Stormwater BMP Manual, the
drainage area for an extended detention wetland must be at least ten acres. In order to
bring this part of the project into compliance, the flow to this BMP could be combined
with the flow to another proposed extended detention wetland on the site. Otherwise, this
wetland could be converted to two or more bioretention areas.
