Cc: Lopez, Dale Subject: Moore. County Regional WWTP- Good news! The Moore County Regional WWTP Whole Effluent Toxicity for the beginning of their new quarter resulted in a "Pass". And, the average of their last quarter was greater than their permit limit (41%), and they "Passed" for the quarter with the following results: Sept (Fail), Oct (>100%), and Nov (57.98%). They will still receive an NOV from the Aquatic Toxicity Unit for their September "Fail" , but there will not be an assessment from ATU, because the average for the quarter was above the permit limit. The bad news is that the reason for the "Fail" in September was not determined. A long list of the usual causes for a WET "Fail" were reviewed during Moore County Regional's search . Also, the reason for last year's "Fail" in September 2009 was never determined. Hopefully, September of 2011 will not result in a "Fail", too. If any of you have an idea that may help in finding the cause of the toxicant(s), please let me know. One of the problems in finding the cause is that the "Fail" condition must be present in order to locate the cause and the source. So, accurate timing in the search of toxicant parameter(s) is necessary. Thanks, Dale 1
