Thank you for submitting the November 18, 2009 chronic effluent toxicity split test results for the Moore
County WWTP. After reviewing the submitted AT-3 form and supporting information it was noted the two
laboratories performing the test, Research and Analytical, Inc. and Meritech, Inc., used different test
concentrations. The test concentrations selected by Research and Analytical, Inc were 0, 20.5, 30, 41, 61.5, and
82. The test concentrations used by Meritech, Inc. were 0, 10.25, 20.5, 41, 82, and 100. In order for our office to
compare toxicity test results between splitting laboratories each laboratory must use the same test
concentrations. Therefore, for all future toxicity tests submitted as splits the selected test concentrations used by
each laboratory must be the same.
