Subject: Geothermal well sampling results

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hamerski:
On March 11, 2021, the North Carolina Division of Water Resource (DWR) collected influent and
effluent water samples from your geothermal water supply well system located 1231 Sherman Oaks
Drive, Wilmington. The samples were submitted to the DWR: Water Sciences Section Laboratory for
analysis of coliform bacteria, total dissolved solids, metals, nitrates and other inorganic constituents.
Analytical results for the influent and effluent groundwater samples (#AC82204 & #AC82203,
respectively) are attached. The effluent sample collected at the wellhead prior to injection had a
concentration of 18 ug/L for lead. This exceeds the respective 15A NCAC 2L .0202 groundwater
standard of 15 ug/L for lead. The Division may request a time in the future to visit the system again in
order to resample.
