Hey Katie, below is what was completed at the North Fork Little River Site after the Monitoring Year
4 Report was submitted. Let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Thanks!
Approximately 3 ounces of a soil amendment mix was placed at the base of each tree in areas with
lower growth- approximately 13 acres of the site. This treatment occurred on February 23, 2021.
The soil amendment mix used 50% slow release fertilizer made from composted poultry manure
(Holganix 2-4-3) and product containing humic acid and water soluble calcium (Humic Plus). This is a
mix Wildlands has used with success on other sites and is meant to supply a low dose of
macronutrients and improve soil properties including cation exchange capacity and microbial
communities.

Hey Jason,
On May 6, 2021 we visited the North Fork site to assess the overall conditions of the vegetation.
Observations during our site visit revealed that heavy deer browsing was likely a factor in the
stunted vegetation throughout a large portion of the site. Herbaceous vegetation was healthy
throughout most of the site. There were some areas along the main tributary that will require a
supplemental planting. Additionally, DWR requested Wildlands initiate efforts to aid in the growth
of the stunted trees. While onsite, Wildlands representatives suggested that some efforts had already
taken place on the site after the monitoring report had been submitted to DWR for review. Will you
please describe what efforts were taken prior to our site visit in May?
Thank you
katie
