Annette,
I need a little help with the observation well requirement in the Manual. The 4t" paragraph under 16.4, pg. 16 -11, says
'A minimum of one observation well shall be included in the design of an infiltration system to periodically verify that the
drainage media is fully draining.' Does 'drainage media' mean the weathered rock in our case, or does this refer to the
washed stone and sand that would be required for a system as depicted in Figure 16 -1b on pg. 16 -4? I'm not sure what
practical purpose an observation well would serve in our case, since visual inspection will show whether the system is
draining or not. I just want to be sure I'm thinking this through properly.
