This lift station is located in the town of Belville in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The area tributary to this lift station is expecting significant ftrture development, and to be proactive H2GO is electing to upsize its pumps to meet this future demand. As such, the permitted flow for this lift station needs to be increased. The permit for this pump station was initially acquired in May 2000, as Permit No. W00017916. Permit modifications were accepted in 2004, 2006, and 2019. The most recent modification brought the permitted flow up to 445 gallons per minute (GPM) from its initially permitted flow of 300 GPM. Based on the projected development in this area, the pumps are currently undersized for what flow this development will bring. Accordingly, Brunswick Regional H2GO is requesting to increase the Westgate Lift Station's permitted flow to 700 GPM. Note that this development is classified as future flow, so no new wastewater is being generated by this project (questions 7 and 8 in section VI of the Fast Track Sewer System Extension Application). Note also that the lift station will utilize the existing force main, so no new force main is being installed as part of this project. The table below compares the existing conditions to the proposed conditions upon permit modification approval. No other operational changes are requested as a part of this permit modification. As stated above, there will be no new flow or redirected flow associated with this project. The existing force main will continue to be used to transmit flow. Westgate Lift Station Pump Information: Current Permitted Flowrate 445 GPM Requested Permitted Flow Rate 700 GPM Proposed Operating Point 700 GPM at 150' TDH Hunkele, Dean From: Peter Galan <pgalan@thewootencompany.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 2, 2021 5:18 PM To: Hunkele, Dean; Walker, Bob; Scott Lewis Cc: Dave Malinauskas Subject: [External] RE: ADD INFO: WQ0017916 Westgate PS CAUTION: External email. Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to Report Spam. Hey Dean, This modification request is only for capacity and pump changes. H2GO would like the capacity to be increased at present, so that when the time is right, they can install new pumps to match that increased capacity. However, the force main will remain the same, as will all other infrastructure at the site. The only physical modification is that to the pumps themselves. This modification request is to supersede and void the previously approved (2019) expansion request. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
