The Long Branch site is located in Guilford county adjacent to the I -73 Greensboro Western Loop near the I- 73/I -40 interchange. The site consists of approximately 1,986 linear feet of stream relocation that was used to offset impacts associated with the U- 2524AC project. The stream relocation was constructed and re- vegetated with appropriate hardwood species. Per permit requirements, NCDOT was required to monitor the stream relocation for channel stability and survival of planted species by visual observation on an annual basis for five years or until success criteria were met. During the monitoring period, annual monitoring reports were submitted to the appropriate regulatory agencies via the Natural Environment Section's (NES) website: hops: / /connect. ncdot.gov /resources /Environmental /Pages/Permits- and - Mitigation. aspx After five years of vegetation and stream stability monitoring, the Long Branch stream relocation indicates that the planted vegetation is surviving and the streambanks remain stable at this time.
