Re: Revised Level Spreader Design for
Rose Hall Subdivision Phase 2
Wake County
Dear Ms. Karoly:
Enclosed for your review are the following for the referenced project:
Revised Level Spreader Worksheets for Cadenza Lane road ditches
Revised Calculations for the Level Spreaders
Sketch of Proposed Level Spreader and Bypass arrangement
Plan of Level Spreaders on Cadenza Lane
The project applicant, Scott Mitchell, is on vacation this week. Our office received your
letter dated June 12, 2007 today. Therefore, we are unable to provide three (3) copies of
the above this afternoon. We will provide three (3) copies to your office on Monday June
18, 2007.
We discussed the level spreaders with Cynthia Van Der Wiele by telephone. We had
proposed level spreaders sized for Q-10 since we cannot construct sputter structures in
the street right of way due to NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) rules. The
streets in Rose Hall will ultimately be taken over for maintenance by NC DOT. We have
proposed a small pipe arrangement in a sump to split flow for the 1" storm. The sump
would be located to the side of the road ditch. Storms larger than 1"would bypass the
sump and continue in the road ditch. The flow for the 1" storm is now controlled and
will pass to an appropriate sized level spreader. The level spreaders proposed are in the
same locations as our earlier submittal. The supporting information provided with our
last submittal still applies. The detention devices have flow split/bypass structures as
indicated by our last submittal.
Should you have questions or require further information, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
Diehl & Phillips, P.A.
