Project: P -3309M WBS #: 40325.1.59 Guilford County The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) will hold an informal, open house -style meeting, known as a Citizens' Informational Workshop for the above - mentioned railroad /highway project for several public railroad crossings in East Guilford County. The workshop will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, between 5 - 7 p.m. at the Guilford County Cooperative Extension (Barn Kitchen Meeting Room), located at 3309 Burlington Road in Greensboro. NCDOT representatives will be present to answer questions and receive comments on the preliminary recommendations for improving several railroad crossings in East Guilford County. The opportunity to submit written comments or questions will be provided and is encouraged. Interested citizens may attend at any time. There will not be a formal presentation. The purpose of the upcoming workshop is to present preliminary recommendations for the existing at -grade railroad crossings located on Franklin Boulevard, O'Ferrell Street, Ward Road, Maxfield Road, Buchanan Church Road and Wagoner Bend Road. Citizens are encouraged to provide comments and suggestions related to those potential safety improvements. The study recommendations include safety enhancements, grade separations and closure of some existing railroad crossings. The goal of NCDOT is to ensure the safety of passengers and train crews, motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, and the surrounding communities.
