Good morning Dave and Sue,
The contractor just encountered bedrock while working on the permitted stream crossing at NCNG McLeansville.
Instead of installing the riprap as depicted on the permitted plans, would it be allowable for them to remove bedrock to
the proposed top of riprap elevation?

Subject: NCNG McLeansville RRC - Plunge Pool rock
Lauren,
The contractor is working on the plunge pool today and encountered bedrock. This has been verified by Third party
testing (Terracon).
Per the approved plans, the plunge pool is to have 2-ft over excavation in order to install 2-ft of class II riprap. Instead,
can they remove the bedrock to the top of riprap elevation (3.74' down) and not install the riprap? This rock will
certainly prevent scour and erosion, plus it's the same material as the natural stream bottom anyway.
