Dear Ms. Hair:
I am extremely grateful for reference permit to construct the pier and observation
platform on my property located on 408 Palustris Court, in Holly Ridge, Onslow County, North
Carolina. Since the time of this granted permit in late 2018, I have been successful in taking the
next steps towards bidding and awarding a contract to construct. However, over the past year
and a half, my efforts were stymied by COVID-19 and its economic effects including significant
labor and materials shortages. This letter is a request to renew or extend my permit for an
additional 3 years from the date above in order to restart the progress toward project
completion of the best quality and durability, all still within the same original guidelines and
provisions of the permit.
I have attached, for your convenience, the original letter from your office. I can also
provide the associated forms and plans if necessary, but I assume those remain on file. Thank
you again for your consideration to make these improvements to further enjoy the beautiful
environment at my back door, and I am hopeful to pick back up where I had to abruptly leave off
