Describe the attachments
or comments:
I have described the attachment of photos in the pdf, underneath each photo. Question #7 from the previous
application: We plan to remove trees and shrubs that are in the way of stabilizing the shoreline by using an
excavator from land. We will then soften the slope with the excavator so that it will no longer be at a 90-
degree angle. The slope of the shoreline will become lessened to allow us to be able to add riprap so that the
erosion will stop occurring. We will also use jute mesh underneath the riprap. We will install silt fencing to
protect surface waters from sedimentation during and after the project has been completed. The silt fence will
allow us to control where the sedimentation goes. We will ensure that it will not go into the lake. After our job
is done the silt fence will stay in place until the entire overall construction project is completed. Also, we will
plant trees and shrubs suited to the area along the shoreline to allow root growth to further stabilize the
shoreline and keep sediment in place. Any areas disturbed during machine operation will be seeded and
strawed after our work is complete. The amount of rip rap proposed for the streambanks is 260 feet long with
2 feet of riprap above the waterline. The amount of stone used below water line approx. 100 feet will require
2-3 feet of stone The remaining will vary from 4 up to 6 feet. It is unknow at the time what the exact depth is or
how much we will need to use. All stone will be placed using an excavator from land.

You can
see here where the bank is washing away. The erosion is causing the property owner to loose ground.
It's shrinking and he won't be able to use the land for anything until it is stabilized.
This tree was
on stable ground and the water undermined, underneath the tree, until it fell in. Now the water runs
behind the root ball, eroding the property.
steepest part of the property. It is washing into the water.
This is the corner of the property, next to the boat house. Water is chipping away the ground behind the
wall of the boat house.
Here is a different angle of the fallen tree that eroded away.
Another angle of the property where water is washing away the property. You can also see the fallen
trees.

Commercial boat dock across the lake from the property creates excessive wake that pounds the
shoreline of the Belle property daily. The Belle property is located directly across from Rumbling Bald on
Lake Lure. In addition to the boat dock, there are also houses surrounding the property that have boat
docks, as well. Photo is taken from the boat house on the Belle Property.

Water is much deeper on this
end. It's possible sixft of riprap
will be needed here, below the
pond level.
