Randy,
Reference your letter dated May 20, 2021, regarding the on-site mitigation areas UT to Reedy Fork Creek Site #1, UT to
Reedy Fork Creek Site #2 Upper, and UT to Haw River Site #5, located off of Interstate 73 near Greensboro, in Guilford
County, North Carolina. These sites are being utilized by the North Carolina Department of Transportation as
compensatory mitigation for impacts to jurisdictional waters of the United States authorized by Department of Army
(DA) permit Action ID No. SAW-2013-00557, associated with construction of the NC 68/US 220 Connector, TIP No. R-
2314A&B.
By copy of this letter, we concur that you have completed referenced DA permit requirements to monitor these stream
mitigation sites for channel stability on an annual basis for five years or until success criteria were met. Accordingly, no
further monitoring of these sites will be required.
As discussed during the mitigation monitoring meeting on March 10, 2021, monitoring requirements remain as part of
DA permit requirements for R-2413A UT to Reedy Fork Creek Site #2 Lower and R-2413B UT to Reedy Fork Creek Site #4.
Should you have questions, please contact me as indicated below.
Sincerely,
Dave Bailey
