American Zinc Products, LLC ("AZP") received your Notice of Violation (NOV), dated May
6th, 2021. The NOV was issued in reference to an incident whereby the pH of effluent
discharge was slightly below the permitted range on February 23rd, 2021. This letter
provides information to advise you of actions taken to mitigate potential future
occurrences of a similar cause.
To address excursions whereby the pH result is outside permit limits of 6.0 — 9.0 S.U., the
facility has made process equipment changes to more effectively manage pH adjustment,
monitor pH, and prevent discharge when pH approaches the permit limit.
