Dear Mr. Smith,
On March 08, 2021, Pilot Travel Centers LLC received a 60-day notice of intent to Revoke the
NPDES Permit NC 0086053. Pilot Travel Centers LLC is responding to this notice in the following
manner.
Pilot Travel Centers LLC does not voluntarily agree to the revocation of this discharge permit. Per
40 CFR 122.64.4.b, we object to the revocation of the NPDES permit.
In addition, Pilot Travel Centers entered into an agreement with Junaluska Sanitary District on
10/23/2020. At that point, the discharge permit ownership was legally transferred to the District
and all permit responsibilities, coverage and liability is under the control of the District. With that,
the NCDEQ intent letter needs to be directed to Junaluska Sanitary District.
We have included Junaluska Sanitary District in this response and feel that NCDEQ needs to
communicate directly with the District.
