Box 297 Woodland, North Carolina 27897 SUBJECT: Dear Mayor Stanley: DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT February 22, 1979 Amendment to Permit No. 4163 Torn of Woodland Wastewater Treatment Facilities Northampton County, North Carolina Final revised plane and specifications for the proposed Town of Woodland wastewater treatment facilities have been reviewed and found to be satisfactory. Permit No. 4163, dated December 16, 1976, is hereby amended to include three 740 GPM vertical turbine irrigation pumps, revised interior basin elope stabiliza- tion and the utilization of natural clay soils for impervious lining of proposed basins in lieu of the original proposal. All other conditions, limitations and the expiration date specified in Permit No. 4163 remain in full force and effect. One (1) set of plane and specifications is being forwarded to the Environmental Protection Agency for review. Upon review and approval of the plans and specifica- tions, the Environmental Protection Agency will advise the Town of Woodland when to advertise for bids to construct this project. cc: Environmental Protection Agency' Northampton County Health Department L. Stanley, Mayor Town of Woodland Post Office Box - 297 Woodland, north Carolina 27097 SUBJECT: Dec Caber •16, 1976 Permit No.,4163' Tewn of Woodland Wastewater Treatment Facilities Nerthainpton County, North Caroline Dear ►eyor Stanley: In accordance with your application received December 10, 1976, we are forwarding herewith Permit No. 4163, dated December IG, 1976, to the Town of Woodland, for the construction and operation of 0.10S MOD non-4ischerje waste- water treatment facilities, consisting of a lift station with dual 300 GPn pis, standby power, high-water alarm, and approximately 12,440 lineal feet of 0-inch force main, a stabilization lagoon, holding lagoon, chlorination facilities, flow measuring, and spray irrigation facilities with irrigation pumps and an approxi- mately :53-acre spry field to serve the Town of Woodland. This permit shall be effective from the date Of its issuance until Dece ber 31, 1961, and shall be subject to the conditions and limitations as specified therein. One (1) set of plans and specifications is being forwarded to the Environ- mental Protraction Agency for review. The facilities shall be effectively maintained and operated at all times so that thereis no. discharge to the surface waters,, nor any contamination of the ground waters which will render them unsatisfactory for normal use. A suitable year round vegetative cover shell be maintained. 5. Irrigation shall not be performed during inclement weather or when the ground is in a condition that will cause runoff. O. Dikes shall be constructed so as.to prevent surface water runoff from washing . nutrients from this spray fieldinto the surface waters. 7. Diversion or bypassing of the untreated wastewater frail the treatment fgcillties is prohibited* G. The Town of Woodland, at least six (6) months prior to the expiration of this permit, shah request its extension, Upon receipt of the request, the'Commission will , review the adequacy of the facilities described therein, end if indicated, will extend the permit for such period of time and under such conditions and limitations as deemed proper. 11.
