DWQ understands that the original project (DWQ 08 -1147) never moved forward. Since that time, the Nationwide and General Certifications have changed, therefore DWQ would not be able to permit under the old GC3693. The following is necessary to re- process the application. Project: Riverwood (formerly Riverwood on Lake Wylie) Planned: Residential Marina Location: Lake Wylie, Mecklenburg County, NC In July, 2008, NS Riverwood Development, Inc., now known as Hopper Communities, requested your review and comment on an application for 7 proposed boat slips for a community boat access lot. (See attached letter dated July 21, 2008 and your response to our request). The application was not finalized and the boat slips were never built. At this time the developer is ready to continue with the community and get approval to construct the 7 boat slips on a community access lot. The lease area for the seven (7) boat slips will be 0.26 acres or 11,340.71 square feet. Riverwood is an 82 lot community situated on approximately 30.247 acres with a total shoreline of 513.6 linear feet. Their will be 114.65' of shoreline preserved based on Duke Energy SUP Guidelines. The conservation area will be located on Lot 16. This shoreline is classified as Future Residential Marina, supporting these 7 boat slips. The boat slips will serve the residents of Riverwood Subdivision. The contact person is Clay McCullough. There will be no dredging associated with this marina The shoreline will be stabilized at the community access lot on approximately 100' of shoreline with rip rap. The boat slips will not exceed 129; in length. The pier will be 5' wide x 36' 10" with a ramp that is 4' x 20' leading to boat slips which will have 3' wide fingers with 12' openings. This facility will not require a pump -out based on Duke Energy's guidelines for pump -outs at commercial marinas. This package also includes location map, aerial photo, and site plan.
