Subject: Blounts Creek Fishing Report 3-3-13
Please see four pictures of fish caught the last few days . Picture one is Charles Hines
from Smithfield with four big trout caught with a white paddle tail Z -man. Picture two is my
granddaughter, 14 year old Macy Smith, showing her first ever trout catch at 18 inches. Next
we have Todd Caraway with a nice striper and trout. And then we have Kayak fisherman Carter
Davis from Grimesland with a 18 inch trout. The weather for the last two weeks has been
crappy with high winds and cold. Yesterday we started to see warmer temperatures and the
boats were out again. We saw a lot of non -fisher people just pleasure riding. We are at that
magical time of season changes and as the water temp warm our trout will being moving out but
then we will see ka-zillions of schools of menhaden start to show up with flounder following
them. We have one more month of striper season. In a few weeks all our tress will be
busting to grow leaves and creek flowers will appear. We already have five nest of Ospreys
scattered about with a pair of Osprey at each nest all in a skitter. Yesterday I saw two
Eagles over little creek and my friend Buster saw two Eagles all sugared up by Nancy's Run.
We are trying to put together a Jubilee On Blounts Creek event next Saturday ,4-6-13, at our
Cotton Patch Marina. We plan to have Live music with Bob Daw and other musical friends and
FREE BOAT TOURS available. From 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM the public can bring their families
and enjoy a scenic boat tour of our Blounts Creek. This event would have a purpose of
creating awareness of our national treasure and to rally up support to stop any of the Martin
Marietta mining proposed 9,000,000 gallons per day of waste discharge waters from polluting
and destroying what God has created for us to enjoy. Our water is brackish and 80 percent of
fish caught are salt water species as I have shown you with pictures for over five years now.
I will give you the official information about our Jubilee On Blunts Creek event in a couple
of days. Thanks And God Bless, Bob Daw
