Ms Kaoly:
Concerning the impact of the proposed pit mine on Blounts Creek and the surrounding
area, I suggest consideration of the following. Require the developer to:
1. treat all of the discharge water (reportedly 9 million gallons per day) to make it
potable according to State and Federal standards.
2. construct and maintain the necessary pipeline to carry the treated water to hook
up with the regional water supply system for distribution throughout the region.
The benefits are obvious in presenting such a win -win solution.
