As previously discussed the work will include the draining of a buffered pond in order to replace an existing culvert and extend the footprint of the dam 57 linear feet in order to accommodate a new two lane rd. Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: In the impact area there is a buffered pond (PA) north of Horseshoe Farm Rd. and an intermittent stream (SA) flowing out of a pipe on the south side of Horseshoe Farm Rd. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: The existing gravel road will be upgraded to a two lane paved road in order to facilitate the new park proposed by the City of Raleigh at the end of Horseshoe Farm rd. 3e. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: PA will be drained via pumps to SA, the dam area above the existing culvert will be excavated and the old culvert removed and replaced with a new culvert and riser. While the pond is drained a temporary road will be built in the pond bed along with a temporary storm water bypass channel to divert flow into the pond bed. The Construction equipment will include an excavator, crane, dump trucks, and potentially a bulldozer or front -end loader for dam construction.
