Dear Mr. Jacobs:
On February 5, 2013, the Division of Water Quality (Division) received your application
requesting a Buffer Authorization for your project. The Division has put this project on hold for
the following reason:
e We need additional information on how diffuse flow will be maintained in the 30 -foot
protected riparian buffer (Section E. Stormwater Management and Diffuse Flow Plan).
Since rain barrels fill up and have an overflow spout, we need additional information on
how the overflow will be managed. In situations involving single family homes, making
sure that diffuse flow is maintained is typically achieved through routing the flow
through vegetation before it reaches the protected buffer.
Pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0502(c) and Title 15A NCAC 02B .0233 (8), the applicant shall
furnish the above requested information for the proper consideration of the application. If all
of the requested information is not received in writing within 30 calendar days of receipt of this
letter, the Division will be unable to approve the application and it will be returned. The return
of this project will necessitate reapplication to the Division for approval, iTNR to
