Association, have submitted a request to modify CAMA Major Permit No. 129-10, which was originally issued on November 1, 2010, and later renewed, modified and transferred. The permit was recently modified on June 2, 2020, and is scheduled to expire on March 1, 2025. The permittee is requesting approval to re -configure a portion of the existing marina docking facility (within the basin) as well as the ten -slip docking facility located along Banks Channel. The total combined slip count within the two canal system (northern and southern canals) is permitted at 38 total slips. As proposed, the permitted ten -slip docking facility located along Banks Channel (which has not yet been constructed) would be modified to accommodate eight vessels, instead of ten. As part of the re- configuration, the main dock spine would be shifted back in a landward direction a distance of 5', to accommodate a 5' extension of the finger piers. Currently, the five finger piers are authorized at a length of 25' and the current proposal would extend the finger piers to 30' in length, with the width remaining the same. The permittees propose to eliminate one of the finger piers, reducing the total slip count to eight. In summary, the overall footprint of the Banks Channel dock would remain consistent with that permitted, with a reduction in slips count at this location. See Exhibit C for final configuration of the Banks Channel dock. Within the northern canal, the permittee is proposing to add slip No. 26 along the outer edge of the northern most finger pier (slips 17-25) as shown on Exhibit B. Previously, the outer edge of the existing dock (proposed as slip no. 26), has not been considered a slip. Lastly, the applicant is proposing to add two, 8' x 8' drive -on floating jet ski lifts within the marina basin, both of which would be located along the eastern shoreline, between the bulkhead and the existing docking facility. Based on current Rule language, the two jet ski lifts, labeled IA and IB, would not result in an increase in slip count as they would be considered platform area. Association May 16, 2021 Page 2 Through this re -allocation and re -configuration, the total number of slips within the marina as a whole, would be reduced from 38 to 36. The permittee has requested that Exhibits A-C be used for slip designation, as they are planning to record these slips (configuration and number) with Pender Co. Based on the information provided, regarding the minor modification request (plans and documents), there does not appear to be any impacts to any wetlands, and the size/footprint of the development plan would remain consistent with DCM's Rules concerning the Estuarine Shoreline and Public Trust AECs. At this time, this office has no objection(s) to this renewal request. The applicant has submitted a check (No. 10673) in the amount of $100 to cover the processing fee.
