P-5726 is an improvement project to add a pedestrian underpass and second platform at the Historic Salisbury Train Station in Rowan County. The project involves extending
an existing 3.75'x3.25' stone box culvert and consolidating existing drainge systems to tie and discharge to a common outfall. The outfall, a Tributary to Town Creek, is a
jurisdictional stream classified as Class 'C' waters by NCDEQ. Measures have been implemented to reduce impacts to the stream, including use of 2:1 fill slopes and
maintaining existing drainage patterns. Further, bank stabilization will be used along the remaining section of stream, to restore and preserve the integrity of its banks.
