Water Quality Certification and Tar -Pam Riparian Buffer Authorization for the
Replacement of Bridge No. 13 over Indian Well Swamp on SR 1753 in Pitt County;
TIP Project B -4604; Federal Aid Project No. BRZ- 1753(1); State Project
No.8.2222401; WBS 33793.1.1.
Reference: USACE Nationwide Permit 13 & 23 dated January 11, 2010, Action ID SAW 2010-
00077. NCDWQ Water Quality Certification and Tar - Pamlico Buffer Authorization
dated February 4, 2010, WQC No. 20091219.
The purpose of this letter is to provide additional information for the Clean Water Act (CWA)
Section 404 Permit issued by the USACE and the Water Quality Certification issued by the
NCDWQ. This project is currently under construction. The North Carolina Department of
Transportation ( NCDOT) is proposing the following addition:
+ Hand - clearing of an additional 0.16 acre non- riparian wetland due to utilities (labeled as
A 1 & A2 on the attached permit drawing).
