This letter is in response to the Notice of Violation letter dated May 6, 2021. Please allow this
letter to function as a response to address the issue.
The monthly average flow for February 2021 at the Gunpowder Creek WWTP NC0023736 was
2.01 MGD which exceeded the permitted 2.0 MGD. There is some inflow infiltration along the
sewer lines that feed to the plant, and there was an abundant amount of rainfall for the month
in our area. I have attached the graph from the USGS rain fall at the Granite Falls research
station, to show the rainfall amounts. The water and sewer distribution crew work
continuously and diligently to correct any inflow infiltration issues.
