PVC forcemein, 2 simplex grinder pump stations, and appurtenances. The proposed sanitary sewer will be constructed to serve several residences located along Galilee Church Road in Kings Mountain, NC. The existing wastewater systems in this area consist of septic tanks and drainfields. The majority, of these systems were installed prior to any regulations or record keeping. As a result the wastewater systems are considered substandard and probably do not function adequately. The proposed sanitary sewer lines will alleviate any problems caused by the existing wastewater systems. The proposed sewer line will connect to the existing sewer system along Hwy 161 that discharges into a lift station, which pumps the wastewater north across 1-85 to the City of Kings Mountain's gravity system. The existing lift station was designed and installed to provide capacity for this watershed. Therefore there are no requirements or needs for the lift station to be upgraded. The proposed sewer line will be constructed inside the NCDOT right-of-way and in private easements obtained by the City of Kings Mountain. After the construction of the proposed sewer line is complete the City of Kings Mountain will own, operate, and maintain the new sanitary sewer line under their current wastewater collection system and the wastewater will be treated at the Pilot Creek WWTP (NPDES ## NC0020737).
