Site inspection was conducted by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office on May 10, 2021. Nick Adams was
present during the inspection. The following are items that need attention:
~ Station L 104+00 -107+00 LT - Ground cover per NPDES requirements.
~ Station L 132+00 RT - Continue to monitor coir log at outlet and remove residual sediment from the pipe as needed.
~ Station L 132+00 - 133+00 LT - Ground cover per NPDES requirements.
~ Station L 147+00 RT Byers/Red Oak - Maintain measures at slope drain inlet/outlet. Inspector had asked if it was
okay to add rip rap in front of the culvert inlet to prevent scour. This is okay to do (per the approved plan), but ensure
that it is embedded.
-Across from field office (unsure of station) - Maintain measures (Measure closest to the stream).
~ Station L 180+00 RT - Needs additonal grouncover.
~ Station L 186+50 RT - Groundcover needed on stream bank. Right bank descending. Inspector had also asked about
using existing substrate to back fill for extension. This is a mixture of fines and larger material. Okay to utilize both, but
would prefer courser material if practicable.
~ Station L 193+50 LT (Rib country) - Additional ground cover needed. Remove spoils from checks and stabilize on site.
