NCG020000 Vulcan Materials Company, LLC (Vulcan) is submitting notification within the 30 days as outlined in Part V Section E. On January 3, 2019 Vulcan received the results regarding the stormwater sample collected from Outfall 003. Turbidity results from Semi-Annual Period 2 Stormwater sample was slightly above the benchmark value of 10 NTU's. A copy of the discharge monitoring report for the above referenced facility is attached. Vulcan is in the process of implementing the Tiered approach for Turbidity exceedances as detailed in Part IV, Section A of General Permit No. NCG020000, including the identification and evaluation of possible causes of the benchmark exceedance and identification and implementation of feasible actions to improve turbidity levels. In addition to those requirements, Vulcan also intendeds to perform upstream and downstream sampling during the next storm water discharge event to determine if the outfall is resulting in exceedances of the receiving stream water quality standards (in the event that the discharge exceeds a benchmark value). Vulcan plans to make improvements to our 003 Outfall structure in the near future.
