Dear Mr, Whitehurst:
On October 24, 2012, Anthony Scarbraugh of Division of Water Quality (DWQ) conducted an inspection to
monitor on -going restoration activities following the removal of impervious surface (former go -kart track)
within Zones 1 and 2 of the Tar - Pamlico Riparian Buffer at your property. During the site inspection, DWQ
staff observed that natural regeneration of the pre- existing grass lawn has begun within the former
footprint of the go -kart track. After considering that ample seed source is available and the potential for
successful natural regeneration is high, this Office will waive the monitor requirement and considers this
NOVRE closed. Please note, this Office would like to encourage any additional planting of grass to
augment the restoration process.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please remember these violations and any future violations are
subject to a civil penalty assessment of up to $25,000.00 per day for each violation. Should you have any
