The site is located in Anson County, North Carolina, 10 miles south of
Wadesboro and 5 miles east of Lowrys. The site is located south of
Tanner Hill Road (34.855°N,-80.1075°W).
The site is located on three parcels comprised primarily of row crop
agriculture. Current vegetation includes cotton, but the site conducts
rotational planting that includes soybeans and cool weather cover crops.
Primary stressors include fecal coliform inputs from manure application,
active erosion, incision, and a lack of stabilizing stream bank and riparian
vegetation.
The purpose of the proposal is the modification of the Division of
Mitigation Services In -Lieu -Fee Program Instrument to add an additional
mitigation site to generate mitigation credits that may be used to provide
compensatory mitigation for unavoidable impacts to streams associated
with Department of the Army permit authorizations pursuant to Section
404 of the Clean Water Act.
