The Town requested an Alternate Bid for the 18-inch pipe to be replaced with a 30-inch pipe. This was due to recent future flow projections and a possible realignment of an existing upstream force main to discharge to the Little Creek OutfaIl. The 30-inch Alternate Bid was within the Town's budget and has been accepted by the Town Council for contract award. This project does not include new services and will not generate or add new flow to the collection system. All proposed work is to be constructed either across open land in new or existing permanent utility easement or across NCDOT-maintained roadways, specifically South Lombard Street (NC Highway 42). This project will be built per Town of Clayton and The Wooten Company construction standards.
