Kari,
Please follow these instructions from our website to close the permit:
Rescind an Existing Industrial Permit
Complete the Rescission Request Form and mail one hard copy of the form to Suzanne McCoy, 1612 MSC,
Raleigh, NC 27699-1612. In addition, e-mail the form to Suzanne McCoy. There is no fee for industrial
permit rescissions. Please note that it can take 1-2 months to process the request because we cannot rescind the
permit until DEQ staff conduct a site visit.
Thank you,
Suzanne McCoy

Based on the current guidance to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Environmental Quality has
adjusted operations to protect the health and safety of the staff and public. Many employees are working remotely or
are on staggered shifts. To accommodate these staffing changes, all DEQ office locations are limiting public access to
appointments only. Please check with the appropriate staff before visiting our offices, as we may be able to handle your
requests by phone or email. We appreciate your patience as we continue to serve the public during this challenging
time.

The site has not been sold yet, but the building has been vacant since the end of 2016 when operations ceased.
There is no manufacturing being done at the facility —all machines were moved out of the building.
Are the permits still required if we are not discharging anything into the stormwater?
Thanks,
Kari Kendall Accounting Manager Greenville Metals, Inc.

Good Morning Richard.
Thank you for your email.
I have attached a Stormwater Permit Summary Report for your reference and looped in my colleague, Michelle, who
placed the call.
Is it possible that this site was sold and a transfer of the permit to the new owner was not made?
