Tar- Pamlico River Riparian Buffer Protection Rules [15A NCAC 2B .0259 (9) (b)]
Dear Mr. Byrd:
On December 18, 2012 at your request, I conducted an on -site review of the subject property for
the applicability to the Tar - Pamlico Buffer Rules (15A NCAC 2B .0259). During the review it
was determined that coastal marsh existed on the property and that coastal wetland limits should
to be identified by the Division of Coastal Management. Mr. Steve Trowell of the Washington
Office flagged the subject coastal wetland line. A second visit was scheduled for marking the
riparian buffers, at which time you indicated that flagging of the buffers, on the subject lot, was
not necessary. If you should require the riparian buffers marked or have any questions in regard
to the riparian buffers please contact this Office and we will be happy to assist you. I may be
contacted in the Washington Regional Office at 252- 948 -3940. Enclosed with this letter are
copies of the buffer rules for your reference.
