KobeWieland Copper Products, LLC has requested approval of two biocides, Sodium hypochlorite & SELcide
784. These product will be discharged in their Outfalls 001 and 003 to the Yadkin River.
Calculations predict the use of the SELcide product, at the stated dosage rate, will not cause toxic impacts to
aquatic life in the receiving stream, Yadkin River. Therefore, the use of this product, SELcide 784, as an additive
to their cooling water system at KobeWieland Copper Products, LLC is acceptable.
The Sodium hypochlorite, is covered under the Total Residual Chlorine Monitoring in KobeWieland Copper
Products, LLC NPDES Permit and therefore, acceptable.
