Chronic Toxicity Testing Erwin Mills NPDES No. NC0001406 Harnett County Mr. Barefoot: `' _ (-.1 ` _ MAY - 6 2003 rc. My staff has received and reviewed Swift Textiles' 3/19/03 effluent toxicity report. Upon review of the AT-1 form, it was noted the wrong type of sample was collected for this toxicity test. As per North Carolina Swift Textile's permit requirement effective 5/1/97, 24-hour composite samples, instead of grab samples, should be collected for chronic toxicity testing. We have recorded the 3/19/03 analysis as a "pass" as submitted. This letter is to inform you that you should correct this discrepancy for future tests in order that they will be accepted.
