The Compliance Evaluation Inspection was conducted by Mark Brantley, Environmental Chemist, of the Fayetteville Regional Office. The facility.was found to be in Compliance with permit NC0001406. As a -reminder, preservation of the Waters of the State can only be achieved through consistent NPDES Permit compliance. Comments • The Division of Water Quality understands the Town and Harnett County are still working on a deal to transfer ownership of this facility. Please remember that a written response is due in the Fayetteville Regional Office by January 31, 2008 from the letter sent to the town dated January 7, 2008 in which a tentative timeline was requested. Also quarterly reports are to be submitted with updates until this facility is transferred to Harnett County or its permit is rescinded. • The Division recognizes the challenges this facility has in chlorinating and dechlorinating the effluent, but also encourages the town to continue using chlorine tablets and dechlor tablets. This should help the facility to better meet its NPDES permit limits for fecal and chlorine. Please refer to the enclosed inspection report for additional observations and comments.
