GENERAL UTILITY NOTES:

2.FIRE HYDRANT PLACEMENT - FIRE HYDRANTS SHALL BE PLACED A MINIMUM DISTANCE OF 6 FEET BACK OF CURB

OTHER PARTS OF THE WORK AND KEEP ALL EXCAVATIONS DRY UNTIL SUCH TIME AS PIPE LAYING AND GRADING IS
COMPLETED AN STRUCTURES TO BE BUILT THEREIN ARE COMPLETED. NO WATER SHALL BE ALLOWED TO RISE
AROUND THE PIPE IN UNBACKFILLED TRENCHES NOR SHALL IT BE ALLOWED TO RISE OVER MASONRY UNTIL THE
CONCRETE OR MORTAR HAS SET (MINIMUM 24 HOURS). ALL WATER PUMPED OR DRAINED FROM THE WORK
SHALL BE DISPOSED OF IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO PREVENT SILTATION AND EROSION TO ADJACENT PROPERTY OR
OTHER CONSTRUCTION.
5.VERIFICATION HAS BEEN MADE BY MCADAMS THAT EACH LOT IS CAPABLE OF HAVING GRAVITY SEWER SERVICE TO
THE CENTER OF THE LOT AT THE FRONT SETBACK.
6.ENGINEER VERIFIES DESIGN HAS BEEN BASED ON GROUND SURVEY.
7.IF WELL AND/OR SEPTIC SYSTEMS ARE ENCOUNTERED, THEN CONTACT TRACI COLLEY (704) 283-3717 WITH
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FOR THEIR SEQUENCE OF EVENTS AND OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION.
8.DESIGN ENGINEER SHALL CONFIRM THAT WATER AND SEWER MAINS AS WELL AS SERVICE LINES, METER BOXES,
FIRE HYDRANTS, WATER SERVICES, AND LATERALS WILL NOT BE IN CONFLICT WITH ANY PROPOSED UTILITY
INSTALLATIONS, LANDSCAPING AND/OR DRIVEWAYS. ANY CONFLICTS SHALL BE AT THE DEVELOPER'S EXPENSE TO
COORDINATE AND RESOLVE AND COULD RESULT IN DELAY OF WATER METERS BEING SET.
9.ANY CHANGES MADE TO THE PLANS FOR OTHER DISCIPLINES (STORMWATER, EROSION, TREES, LANDSCAPING,
ETC.) MUST BE SHOWN AND IDENTIFIED BY REVISION # AND CLOUDING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DELAY THE
APPROVAL OF THIS PROJECT.
10.ONLY UCPW PERSONNEL WILL OPERATE THE ACTIVE VALVES WHICH INCLUDE THE TAPPING VALVE.
11.ALL PROPOSED SEWER CONNECTIONS TO THE EXISTING SEWER SYSTEM BY STRADDLE MANHOLE MUST NOT CUT
INTO THE EXISTING SEWER PIPE UNTIL THE PROPOSED SEWER LINE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED BY UCPW. ALSO ALL CORE
CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING MANHOLES MUST BE PLUGGED WITH A CONCRETE PLUG IN THE INVERT OUT AT THE
FIRST PROPOSED MANHOLE UPSTREAM OF THE TIE IN POINT. THE SEWER PLUG SHALL NOT BE REMOVED UNTIL
THE PROPOSED SEWER LINE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED BY UCPW. IF PLUG IS REMOVED PREMATURELY OR EXISTING PIPE
IS DAMAGED BY CONTRACTOR, THEY MAY BE LIABLE FOR CLEANING ALL DOWNSTREAM SEWER MAIN AT UCPW
DISCRETION.
12.ALL 2" GATE VALVES SHALL BE AWWA C515 COMPLIANT.
13.ALL 3" OR LARGER GATE VALVES SHALL BE AWWA C500 AND C509 COMPLIANT.
14.ALL AIR RELEASE VALVES SHALL BE AWWA C512 COMPLIANT.
15.ALL WATER AND SEWER TAPS, MATERIALS, AND INSTALLATION TO BE BY THE DEVELOPER.
16.A UNION COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS UTILITY RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL EXIST ON ALL SANITARY SEWER LATERALS, WATER
METERS, AND FIRE HYDRANTS. THE UTILITY RIGHT-OF-WAY IS LOCATED 5 EET ALL SIDES FROM THE CLEANOUT,
WATER METER, OR FIRE HYDRANT TO THE PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.
17.THE PROPERTY OWNER SHALL NOT CONSTRUCT OR PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OR PLACEMENT OF ANY TYPE
