Intensive Stream Monitoring
Dear Mr.Goodrich:
Enclosed please find a copy of the monitoring results from the intensive survey
conducted on August 28,1996.Mr.Jim Blose of the Instream Assessment Unit
accompanied the PPG sampling team and assisted in the identification of the sampling
points and in the actual sampling/monitoring.The enclosed report is a summary of the
data recorded during the sampling as well as a summary of the analytical results from
the contract Iaboratory.A copy of the report sheets from the laboratory is also enclosed.
The sampling was scheduled in accordance with the requirements of the permit
in that no rain in excess of.] inch had fallen within 10 days of the sampling dat:e.We
believe this satisfies the stream monitoring requirements for 1996 as described iia
Section I11,Part G of the above referenced permit.
Please note that due to a mistake on the part of the contract laboratory
(Burlington Research), the minimum detection limit for both NI-13-N and 'YKN was 0.5
mgll instead of 0.1 mg/l.
We. appreciate the assistance of Mr.Blose in the implementation of this sampling
plan.
Sincerely,
W.13uchanan
