Name of Project: Lenoir Farm 1 County: Lenoir Coup_ t
Nearest Named stream + River Basin (from USGS topographic map):
Gum Swamp Creek is located approximately 4,000 feet south of the site.
Please provide a brief description of this project (attach site plan if available):
A solar array field is proposed at the subject site. On October 4, 2012, Mr. William Wescott of the USACE determined the
streams along the western and southeastern boundaries of the site are Waters of the U.S. -ECS personnel determined the stream on
the western boundary of the site was intermittent and the stream along the southeastern boundary of the site was perennial.
Therefore, it appears the Neuse River stream buffer requirements will apply to this site. A USGS map, NRCS soil map, other
supplemental mapping and site photographs are attached.
Location of project site - please include reference to the county, nearest named town and highway number:
The site is comprised of one parcel which totals 41.08 acres. The site is located on the south side of Wheat Swamp Road
approximately 600 feet northwest of its intersection with Highway 258 in Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina (Figures 1 and
2, Appendix I). According to the information provided from the Lenoir County On -line GIs website, the Parcel Identification
Number for the site is 359700782369 and the Parcel Record Number is 4149.
Has any DWQ staff visited the site? No
