As North Carolina navigates the next phases of pandemic recovery, our job creators need
regulatory certainty and commonsense safeguards for advancing economic development and
instilling investor confidence. Now is the time to secure our state's standing as the best place to
build and grow a business; the proposed temporary Wetlands Rule 15A NCACO2H.1301
(Revision) and 15A NCACO2H.1400 (.1401 through .1405) will make this feat impossible. When
businesses face inefficient, unpredictable, and, frankly, unfair rules that prevent progress of
projects, North Carolinians lose jobs and housing, and our state loses investment prospects and
potential residents to our competitors.
Fostering a modernized, streamlined regulatory climate, where our current and future job
creators can move forward in compliance and permit decisions, is vital to North Carolina's
appeal as both a headquarter and a home. We need rules that will improve predictability and
productivity for our businesses, because a strong economy that provides jobs and opportunities
leads to healthy and safe communities.
