Della,
A couple of issues need to be addressed before we can issue a Buffer Certification.
- Please review proposed riparian buffer impact summary table in submitted permit drawings. The
impact table totals provided with the permit drawings do not accurately sum Zone 1 or 2 impacts as
listed in the table and do not match buffer impact data provided in the PCN. Confirm which impact
data are correct so that we can prepare a Buffer Certification approval.
- For buffer impacts that require mitigation, there needs to be additional information regarding how
DOT intends to provide mitigation. A letter from Division of Mitigation Services, for example, will
suffice.
Let me know if you have any questions (email or mobile number are best). Thanks.

Based on the current guidance to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Environmental Quality has
adjusted operations to protect the health and safety of the staff and public. Many employees are working remotely or
are on staggered shifts. To accommodate these staffing changes, all DEQ office locations are limiting public access to
appointments only. Please check with the appropriate staff before visiting our offices, as we may be able to handle your
requests by phone or email. We appreciate your patience as we continue to serve the public during this challenging
time.
