Eric,
Attached please find a revised well diagram for the monitoring well indicating Portland cement grout (in the upper 19
feet).
As shown on the well diagram, we are planning a 3-foot thick bentonite seal. Any adjustment made during installation
would reduce the bentonite seal thickness to no Tess than 2 feet.
As you note below, we are planning 3 feet of sand above the top of screen. Any adjustment made during installation
would reduce the height of sand above the top of screen to no less than 1 foot.

Nora:
For the submitted monitoring well application at 600 W Cabarrus St in Raleigh some additional information is necessary-
1
1. For the well diagram please specify the grout type for the upper three feet of well construction if a cement or
concrete type grout.
2. For the well diagram please indicate the bentonite seal thickness. One foot is the minimum.
The current submittal depicts the sand thickness above the screen as three feet and this is ok. Be aware if the diagram
changes DWR need will need to see a minimum one foot horizon of sand pack above the top of screen.
This additional information can be emailed to us and is due on or before April 28, 2021. Contact me if you have any
questions.
