From: Stehman, Charles Sent: Thursday, September 01, 201111:51 AM To: Smith, Eric Subject: Permit WI0800197, Camp Lejeune Wallace Creek Complex Eric, I am in receipt of the New Permit package which proposes install 320 SQM wells at Camp Lejeune's Wallace Creek Complex. Looking at BIMS. it would appear that you permitted three SQW test wells in June of 2010. Presumably these were used to facilitate the final design is presented in this application. At 255 feet of depth, these wells will penetrate both the upper and lower zones of the Castle Hayne Aquifer. Brackish groundwater most likely will be encountered at a depth of 200 feet. I cannot see any problem with this system which is similar to others which have been constructed at Camp Lejeune and recommend that you issue the permit for this design, as requested. I do not intend to send you an APSARR Form for this application review. Charles F. Stehman, Ph.D.,P.G.
