GENERAL SITE NOTES
A. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM WITH APPLICABLE STATE AND
LOCAL CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS AS IDENTIFIED IN THESE
PLANS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A
CURRENT RELEASE OF THE STATE AND LOCAL LAND DEVELOPMENT
STANDARDS MANUAL ON THE PROJECT SITE FOR REFERENCE DURING
CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT.
B. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE TO EDGE OF PAVEMENT AND FACE OF CURB
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
C. ALL PAINT STRIPING, PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND SIGNAGE SHALL
CONFORM TO THE "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES"
OR AS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. ALL REFERENCED SIGN STANDARDS ARE
TAKEN FROM THE "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES".
ALL NEW SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON GALVANIZED POSTS AND IN
ACCORDANCE WITH STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS.
D. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOCATION AND PROTECTION
OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION. AT LEAST 48 HOURS

CONTROL INSPECTOR OF THE TOWN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT (PH.910
371-0148) TO DISCUSS EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.
3. INSTALL SILT FENCE, INLET PROTECTION, SEDIMENT TRAPS,
DIVERSION DITCHES, TREE PROTECTION, AND OTHER MEASURES AS
SHOWN ON PLANS, CLEARING ONLY AS NECESSARY TO INSTALL THESE
DEVICES.
4. CALL (910) 371-0148 FOR ON -SITE INSPECTION BY ENGINEERING
INSPECTOR. WHEN APPROVED, ENGINEERING INSPECTOR ISSUES THE
GRADING PERMIT. BEGIN CLEARING AND GRUBBING AFTER PERMIT
ISSUANCE.
5. MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AS NEEDED.
6. FOR PHASED EROSION CONTROL PLANS, CONTRACTOR SHALL MEET
WITH EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR PRIOR TO COMMENCING WITH EACH
PHASE OF EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.
7. STABILIZE SITE AS AREAS ARE BROUGHT TO FINISH GRADE.
8. ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE N.C. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
PLANNING AND DESIGN MANUAL, U.S. DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE,
U.S. SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE, TOWN OF LELAND EROSION
CONTROL ORDINANCE, AND THE TOWN OF LELAND ENGINEERING
DEPARTMENT.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DILIGENTLY AND CONTINUOUSLY MAINTAIN
ALL EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AND STRUCTURES TO MINIMIZE
EROSION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN CLOSE CONTACT
WITH THE TOWN OF LELAND EROSION INSPECTOR SO THAT
PERIODIC INSPECTIONS CAN BE PERFORMED AT APPROPRIATE
STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION.
