On behalf of our client, the City of Durham, Kimley-Horn is submitting
this pre -filing meeting request for the proposed East Durham Water
and Sewer Rehabilitation project. The Project is situated north of
Price Avenue, south of E. Umstead Street, west of S. Alston Avenue,
and east of Fayetteville Street in the Jordan Lake Watershed in
Durham, Durham County, NC. The area surrounding the project is
largely urban, composed primarily of residential housing and
commercial development. The proposed project plans to install
approximately 1,800 LF of new waterline. Additionally, the project
plans to install approximately 1,300 LF of new gravity sewer line,
abandon approximately 1,700 LF gravity sewer line in place, and
rehabilitate approximately 400 LF of gravity sewer via Cured -In -Place
Pipe (CIPP) lining. It is anticipated that the project will qualify for
authorization under NWP 58 (Utility Line Activities for Water and
Other Substances) and corresponding WQC 4276 or Individual 401
Certification is also anticipated for riparian buffer encroachments.
