We are submitting a Fast -Track Application (FTA 04-16) for the above referenced
project. The following items are provided: original and copy of the application form,
$480 application fee, copy of approval letter from Brunswick County, original and copy
of Flow Tracking/Acceptance for Sewer Extension Application (FTSE 04-16), two copies
of the Sanitary Sewer Narrative, two copies of a color 8.5"xl 1" Aerial Map, and two

Aurora Place
Sanitary Sewer Narrative
Description:
Travel 1.32 miles south on US-17 (Ocean Hwy E) from the intersection of US-17 & NC-
87 (George II Hwy SE). Turn right on S.R. 1406 (Bell Swamp Rd NE) and travel 0.87
miles to the site. The site is located on the north side of Bell Swamp Rd NE.
The proposed sanitary sewer system is to serve 221 (4 bedroom) units. The flow required
is 61,880 GPD based on a reduced flow rate of 70 gpd/bedroom (140 gpd/lot min.) since
the flow goes to the West Brunswick Regional W WTF which has that approved reduced
flow rate. There is 8,024.10 LF of 8" public sanitary sewer gravity main, 356 LF of 8"
public sanitary sewer force main (direction drill), and 4,591 LF of 6" public sanitary
sewer force main being proposed for this project. The length of the gravity sewer main is
based on the distance from inside wall of manhole to inside wall of manhole. The pump
station is a duplex station. The pumps are 30 horsepower, and the pumping rate is 490
gpm at 124 TDH when pumping alone at initial service.
The proposed 6" force main will discharge into an existing 16" sanitary sewer force main
along the east side of US-17.
Approvals, as/if required, will be obtained to permanently fill some of the 404 wetlands
on the site, and to permanently fill the isolated wetlands. Therefore, 4 locations where
the public sanitary sewer gravity main would have crossed wetlands, will not cross
wetlands. Those 4 areas will be greater than 10 feet from the new wetland lines.
71.05 LF of the 153.92 LF of the proposed public sanitary sewer gravity main from
SSMH-2 to SSMH-21 is within 10 feet of, or crosses, wetlands. The public sanitary
sewer gravity main from SSMH-2 to SSMH-21 will meet water main standards (15A
NCAC 18C) for materials, testing methods and acceptability standards.
224 LF (along Bell Swamp Connection) of the public sanitary sewer force main is within
10 feet of, or crosses, wetlands. The public sanitary sewer force main will meet water
main standards (15A NCAC 18C) for materials, testing methods and acceptability
standards.

III. Certification Statement:
I William L. Pinnix, P.E. certify to the best of my knowledge that the addition of
the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the receiving
wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to cause any capacity
related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station en route to the receiving
treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements
identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed in accordance
with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to
those items listed above in Sections I and Il plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I
am the responsible party. Signature of this form certifies that the receiving collection system or treatment
works has adequate capacity to transport and treat the proposed new wastewater.
