The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the North
Carolina Department of Transportation(NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization
to discharge dredged or fill material into waters and wetlands into headwaters of Jinnys Branch
to construct a roadway extension of SR 1163 (Old Georgetown Road) from SR 1184 (Ocean Isle
Beach Road) to NC 179 (Bricklanding Road) outside Ocean Isle Brunswick County
Transportation Improvement Project(TIP) R-3432

The project is generally located in south central Brunswick County north of Ocean Isle east of
Calabash and west of Shallotte The location of this project specifically begins at the intersection
of existing SR 1163 (Old Georgetown Road) and SR 1184 (Ocean Isle Beach Road) and then
orients east and finally terminates into NC 179 (Bricklanding Road) near the headwaters of
Jinnys Branch The road can be physically located near 33 932002 N and -78 427885 W The
project is located in the Lumber River Basin and lies within Hydrologic Unit 03040207
