PERMIT: 006, by the Mecklenburg County Water uation Inspection Report was issued on The NPDES treatment works for the subject facility consists of a groundwater remediation system with two oil/water separators in series, an air stripping system, two particulate filters in series, two carbon filters in series, and a holding tank. An in -situ gypsum curtain remediation system has been installed to treat the contaminated groundwater leaving the property. The permit properly describes the facility and appears adequate for the wastewater. The facility operates under General Permit No. NCG510000 and Certificate of Coverage No. NCG510006. The permit became effective on October 1, 2006, and expires on September 30, 2011. The permit authorizes the discharge of treated petroleum contaminated groundwater. The facility is currently in the process of renewing their permit. RECORDS/REPORTS: The facility is not required to submit Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) under the terms of the current permit. The system has not been in operation since June 2000 and there are no laboratory analytical reports for the current review period. The facility contact indicated that the systern is shut down while the perniittee considers more effective/ efficient methods of treatment. The revised General Permit was signed on September 20t, 2006 and takes effect October 1, 2006. Accordingly, we are forwarding the attached CoC to discharge under NCG510000. This CoC is issued pursuant to the requirements of North Carolina. General Statute 143-215.1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between North Carolina and the US Environmental Protection agency dated May 9, 1994. A copy of the renewed General Permit is enclosed, as well as an updated Technical Bulletin. The Technical Bulletin summarizes the changes from the previous version of NCG510000. If any parts, measurement frequencies or sampling requirements contained in this permit are unacceptable to you, you have the right to request an individual permit by submitting an individual permit application. Unless such demand is made, this Certificate of Coverage shall be final and binding. The CoC is not transferable except after notice to the Division. You must notify the Division if you sell or otherwise transfer ownership of the permitted facility. The Division may require modification or reissuance of the CoC.
