Dear Ms. Moore:
Analytical data performed along with toxicity testing in January indicate that a high
concentration of zinc was the probable cause for the toxicity failure. In plant testing
indicated hauled septage received into the plant was contributing high levels of zinc. All
septage acceptance was halted in late January 2021. Analytical data indicated a
significant reduction of zinc discharged in the plants effluent.
Multiple concentration testing was performed in February and March. The February
result was >100% and the March result was 63.6%.
We will continue to investigate possible causes of toxicity.
